Day 2 Start after breakfast. Visit to Ulucami (Grand Mosque) and the remains of Seldjouk Caravanserai. Short walk at Copper Market. Lunch and departure to view the world-famous sunset at Nemrut (Commagene) Mountain (2150 m.) around which tributaries of the river Euphrates flow. Return to hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Early departure to watch the most striking view of the sunrise. Visit to the sacred final resting place (Hierothesion) built by King Antiochos I of Commagene, and the mass-stone statue monuments, too heavy and large to be carried to museums, and remain where they are originally erected. See the one and only untouched Tumulus in the world.
Return to Malatya for lunch and transfer to the airport for return flight.

Day 2 Departure after
breakfast by the black-seaside highway towards Russia, viewing Surmene,
Of, Caykara, towns all enjoying a sub-tropical climate, green settings

typical Black Sea city covered with tea plantations, Cayeli,
Pazar, Ardesen, Arhavi, Hopa and the Russian border-gate Sarp.
Lunch on the way and visit to a tea factory.
Drive to Camlihemsin and Ayder
plateau, if time permits, before return to hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Start after breakfast for Uzungol, lovely alpine lake and lunch at a trout farm. Stop at Ganita for a short tea break and watch the fascinating sunset. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 4 Free morning to explore the old market place and typical arhitecture within the still extant fortifications of Trabzon. Transfer to the airport for return flight.

After Costantine the Great's declaration of Christianity
as the religion of Roman Empire, the capital was moved from Rome to Byzantium.
With the conquest (1453) of Ottoman Empire the seat of Patriarchate remained
in Istanbul.

Church of Panagia of Blachernae, the best known and most celebrated shrine of the Holy Virgin located near Golden Horn. Famed with the hagiasma (fountain of holy water), good to cure health problems, and the Hagion Lousma (sacred bath) good to clean the soul, where the emperor also came to purify himself.
(Kariye), originally a Byzantine monastery, dedicated to Jesus Christ the Savior, survived with fantastic mosaics and frescoes, portraying scenes from the Bible, the life and miracles of Jesus.
The monastic complex of Christ Pantocrator (Fethiye) was one of the largest and best organized of the Byzantine period, comprising two churches and a funerary chapel, baths, a hospice for the aged, a hospital and a medical school, a hostel for travellers and a library.
Zoodochos Pege at Balikli, dedicated to the Mother of God at Pege, with an underground cistern, full of gold fish related to a well-known miracle, and the fountain of holy water, believed to cure many diseases, is one of the most celebrated shrines.
St. Sergius & Bacchus, a landmark in Byzantine ecclesiastical architecture. Today it is known as the "Little Hagia Sophia" because its general plan is a precursor of the Hagia Sophia.
Hagia Sophia, for many centuries was the largest church of Christendom, dedicated to Divine Wisdom, an attribute of Christ. Hagia Sophia played an important role as emperors were crowned and many victories were celebrated in this remarkable building.
Hagia Eirene, the old patriarchal church with its impressive size stands next to Hagia Sophia.
Church of the St. Mary Pammacaristos (Zeyrek), built in XI. century by John Comnenus, displaying the aesthetic refinement attained to Paleologan age, originally belonged to a convent of nuns. Housed the Patriarchate for a while after the conquest.

Day 1 Early morning flight or night bus to Smyrna (Izmir), recipient of a letter from St Paul praising the early believers for their faithfullness. Visiting to St. Polycarp Church and a short tour of the city, drive to Thyateira (Akhisar), and Sardis(Salihli), the ancient Lydian capital. Philadelphia (Alasehir), the youngest of the "Seven Churches of Revelation", visiting the still standing remains of an early church and the city walls. Dinner and overnight at Hierapolis (Pamukkale).
Day 2 Departure after breakfast, tour of Hierapolis. Visit to Laodicea (Denizli), a crossroad of the ancient world, home of Philip the Evangelist. Continue to Ephesus, most important of the "Seven Churches of Asia Minor", where St. John brought Mary in fulfillment of his pledge to Jesus to protect her, she is believed to have taken into heaven. Visit to the last abode of Virgin Mary and St. John Basilica. Dinner and overnight in Izmir.
Day 3 Departure after breakfast for Pergamum (Bergama), the place where, wrote St. John to the church of Pergamum, "Satan's throne is sited". Evening return to Izmir and transfer to the airport for flight, or evening bus to Istanbul.
